Bath Fertility Centre is a private fertility clinic licensed by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority and registered with the Care Quality Commission to carry out procedures and treatments related to infertility. Our patient group is almost entirely adult.
We do not treat children for infertility but occasionally we might be asked to store sperm or eggs for young people who require oncology treatment which could affect their future fertility.
Children seldom attend our centre but of course patients who have had a baby following treatment will visit to show us their new baby.
The Directors and senior managers at Bath Fertility Centre are assured that the following recommendations are in place to safeguard children and young people.
- Bath Fertility Centre meets all statutory requirements in relation to Disclosure and Barring checks (previously known Criminal Records Bureau checks).
- Bath Fertility Centre has a Safeguarding Children Policy.
- A Senior Consultant has completed safeguarding training to level 3 and all staff working at Bath Fertility Centre have undertaken level 1 child protection training renewable every three years.
- The safeguarding lead at Bath Fertility Centre is Mrs Helen Kendrew (Matron)
