What to expect
Need IVF and not sure what happens next? Everyone’s treatment pathway is different but typically the IVF treatment cycle follows these steps.
The initial step
Making the initial step is the hardest but we are here to help you achieve your long-awaited family. We will be with you every step of the way to offer encouragement, help and support. You can call our team to arrange an initial one-to-one appointment or join us at one of our regular open evenings. Please use these opportunities to ask any questions you may have.
There are a number of ways you can refer yourself if you are self-funding; please either use the enquiry form below or call us on 01761 434464. If you think that you are eligible for NHS funding you will need a referral from your GP.
We will make an appointment for you to meet with one of our fertility doctors once we have received your referral. We will talk to you about you and your partner’s medical history and identify the best treatment to suit your needs.
The treatment could be IVF, or IVF with ICSI which is where a single sperm is injected directly into the egg for fertilisation. ICSI is used is there are any concerns about fertilisation.
Any tests or screening which may be needed before or as part of your IVF cycle will be discussed at this time, including semen analysis. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about any part of your treatment.
Reproductive Medicine Clinic
We also host the Royal United Hospital Reproductive Medicine Clinic for initial investigations. To attend this clinic a GP referral is needed.
Please fill in the form below and we will contact you to confirm your appointment which will typically last around 30 minutes.
