Joanna and Ed’s story
“In August 2015, Ed & I attended an Open Evening at Bath Fertility in order to find out more about fertility treatment and what they might be able to offer us. We had been trying to conceive for a couple of years and had undergone tests through the NHS that had confirmed we had ‘unexplained infertility’. For personal reasons we wanted to look into the possibility of receiving fertility treatment privately and had received glowing reports from friends about BFC. The Open Evening was welcoming and informative, and within a few weeks we had an appointment with Mr Sharp to discuss a way forward, and by October we were starting our first round of IVF with ICSI.
Sadly our first round of IVF did not result in a pregnancy but it was successful with regards to frozen embryos. We had 9 embryos suitable for freezing at blastocyst stage, and so remained positive for a frozen embryo transfer in the New Year.
Our frozen embryo transfer took place at the end of February 2016 and we now have a beautiful, 1 month old, baby girl named Rosie and we’re about to celebrate our first Christmas as a family.
We cannot recommend Bath Fertility highly enough. The environment they create at the centre is relaxed and welcoming. The continuity of staff is reassuring and the whole team are kind, caring and supportive (with a good sense of humour when we needed it most).
We cannot thank you enough for helping us to become a family.
Special thanks to Helen Miller, Clare Williams and Emma Napier, who were with us every step of the way.”
